About Us
Our History
East Coast Wellness Clinic opened nine years ago in the loft space of a Halifax yoga studio. ECWC founder, Kelly Wadden, worked round the clock treating her loyal and growing client base. There came a time where Kelly knew she wanted to welcome other practitioners into her clinic in order to expand this dedication to client care. In 2017, ECWC moved to 1451 Brenton Street to grow in size and services. What started as a commitment to offer the best massage therapy treatments in HRM, grew to include acupuncture and osteopathy. East Coast Wellness Clinic’s success is rooted in providing the best collaborative therapeutic experience for our incredible clients.
East Coast Wellness Clinic has grown into one of the premiere wellness clinics in Halifax. Our space is centrally located less than a block south of Spring Garden Road. We look forward to welcoming you into our space, and we are invested in customizing your experience at ECWC from start to finish. It is our commitment that you will receive the best possible care in the capable hands of our skilled and nurturing practitioners.

Holding a degree in Kinesiology, Kelly focuses her treatments on deep tissue manipulation, myofascial release, therapeutic massage, breathwork, cupping and sport massage.

She has experience in a broad spectrum of tissue manifestations ranging from athletic injuries to postural alignment and repetitive strain. One of the most rewarding elements of her career has been achieved through her work with clients who are facing unique challenges associated with PTSD.

Carissa considers herself a lifelong learner, and having recently moved to the East Coast from Ontario, she could not be more thrilled to begin to put down roots in such a wonderful community.

Maria North
RMT
Maria North is a registered massage therapist who completed her studies at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy here in Halifax. Her treatment approach combines deep tissue and myofascial techniques with deep relaxation to increase benefits of treatment and aid in release throughout the body. Maria is also a fitness instructor and uses this knowledge to approach her massage practice from an all-encompassing standpoint.
Maria was born and raised in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, and loves spending time outside enjoying everything the province has to offer. You can find her cycling, hiking, camping, and trail running when not at work, and she’s always happy to share her favourite trail recommendations!
Maria is very excited to be a part of the wonderful team at ECWC!

Adam Blackwood
RMT
Adam Blackwood’s interest in manual therapy began after a serious back injury he sustained as a result of a fall down a flight of stairs. Numerous doctors helped mediate pain with medication but this still left him having to walk with a cane at the age of 19. It was at this time that he was recommended to go see an osteopath. After a couple sessions he regained the ability to stand and walk without aid, and had a substantial reduction in pain.
Extremely fascinated with the process that helped regain his mobility, Adam decided to enroll into the Massage Therapy program offered at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Halifax. Graduating with honours in 2016, Adam then began his professional career as a massage therapist working with clients to promote health and rehabilitation.
Immediately after graduating the Massage Therapy program he enrolled in the five year osteopathy program offered through the College D’Études Ostéopathiques. This program offers an in depth look into the visceral, musculoskeletal and craniosacral systems with the goal of treatment being the discovery of the root cause of pain rather than treating the presenting symptoms. Adam is due to graduate in 2022.
Over the past five years, Adam has been developing a therapeutically focused approach to treatment by blending a variety of osteopathic techniques into his current massage practice. He loves working with clients in acute pain or those suffering from more chronic conditions like migraines, digestive problems, repetitive use injuries and postural problems.
Adam is a member of good standing of the Massage Therapists and Wholistic Practitioners Association of the Maritimes.

Heidi Wambolt
RMT
Heidi Wambolt graduated in the summer of 2021 from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy with honors distinction. During her studies, she spent valuable time in the specialty clinics of neurology, sports injury and invisible illness. In combination with her massage diploma, Heidi also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and her 200hour Yoga Teacher Training.
Heidi approaches treatment from a clinical perspective, while honoring the importance of taking the time to slow down and connect to each body through hands-on treatment. Heidi believes that our bodies inherently want to be in a state of balance, and when symptoms arise they are gently trying to communicate with us.
In her spare time, Heidi loves taking the time to connect with nature through identifying the local flora and fauna, hiking, backcountry camping, and cycling. She is incredibly excited to learn from and grow with the team at ECWC!

Murat Tascioglu
Acupuncturist
Murat is a Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine graduate who also holds a diploma in the physiotherapy assistance program from Nova Scotia Community College. His journey to cure and understand more about himself started a decade ago life coaching and then teaching yoga. Murat later combined those two skills by conducting hikes as part of a therapeutic program for high-profile company executives, most of whom were his acquaintances from his previous career in finance. Discovering medicinal plants during those hikes was a conduit to the next phase of his journey to study clinical herbology in Boulder, Colorado, which was inevitably followed by intense studies in Oriental Medicine.
Acupuncture, moxibustion, fire cupping, gua sha, Tui Na massage therapy, dietary medicine, emotional awareness, and promotion of easy-to-fix lifestyle changes are all within the scope of Murat’s practice as a holistic medicine practitioner. He is also a master of Qi Gong and promotes practical daily routines to address mental and physical health, and ensure quality aging.
Murat’s mission is to advocate for and practice road-tested Oriental Medicine and revive what is forgotten. “Educate, support, and let go” is his motto which only intensifies his passion for educating his patients about their holistic wellness to build a better understanding of the aspects of both individual and collective healing.
Murat is an avid hiker, an outdoor swimmer, and an enthusiastic gardener. He considers himself a lifelong student of human sciences.
